Position Overview: Novelis is currently seeking a senior operations analyst to join our North American Operations team.
We are looking for an individual who can bring a foundation in data management, including, but not limited to: complex data extraction, analysis, data visualization, uncovering/interpreting/presenting data trends, and cross-functional collaboration.
This role reports to the North America VP of Operations and would be the best fit for an individual with a curious nature, naturally inquisitive, and seeks explanations through the use of data. The team is an autonomous group, with many self-motivated projects which directly contribute to the advancement of many facets of the business.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Extracting, synthesizing and analyzing data from across the manufacturing footprint, then producing strategic recommendations based on that data
- Creating what-if scenarios on operational areas such as routing changes, addition or removal of assets from the manufacturing system, and the resulting impact on the volume
- EBITDA analysis of current capability and verification of existing plant plans
- The design and development of an operations data warehouse which will bring about clear, intelligent reporting and analysis that will reduce the reporting burden around operations with direct and streamlined data.
- Serve as the process owner of Operations data governance across the region
- Lead plant improvement projects based on the results of data analysis
- Understanding of best practices for building data standards, data extraction, and data synthetization.
- Ability to connect various data points into a data story that can influence stakeholders spanning all levels of the organization.
- Experience quantifying processes and process outputs.
- Ability to logically dissect processes and bring a lens of curiosity to how the pieces fit together.
- Strong attention to detail is required, as this work will be visible and used by all levels of the organization.
- Experience developing action plans based on data analysis.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and related software systems (SAS, MINITAB, etc…).
- Working relationship with Power BI preferred.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or R programming languages preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with MS-Excel.
- Foundational understanding of several of the following fields: Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Statistics.
- Formal experience working within WCM and/or Lean Six Sigma frameworks preferred.
- Experience working in an operations environment and/or working knowledge of operations processes preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business administration or related field.
