Dog Kennel Caretaker

We are looking to hire a Dog Kennel Caretaker/ Helper in, or around, the Milan, TN area. We have both full time and part time positions available. Qualified candidates must have open availability, including weekends and holidays. As a Dog Kennel Caretaker for FPM, you will need to be able to work 9AM-5PM, Three (3) days a week.

*We ask that you, please, DO NOT apply unless you are able to preform the hard labor work all day.*

Responsibilities will include:

• You will have to work outside in the rain and cold.
• You will be on your feet all day.
• You will be cleaning kennels.
• You will be working with dogs that are trained in protection and obedience training. They range from 65-120 pounds and can be very strong and aggressive.
• You will be handling, training, feeding, and exercising dogs. This is a hands on, physically demanding, position.
• You will have responsibilities along the ranch such as weed whacking, helping prepare the facility for clients, cleaning the training shop, and any other duties as assigned.
• You will coach, encourage, and motivate dogs.
• You will ensure that the facility is up to standards on cleanliness.

The ideal candidate should:

• Have current or previous experience handling bigger dogs, such as pitbulls, rottweilers, and shepherds. You WILL be working with dogs that range from 65-120 pounds.
• Effectively communicate with the staff at FPM. You must carry yourself in a manner that is detail-oriented, team-oriented, and people-oriented.
• Maintain a positive attitude with not only the animals, but the staff as well.
• Be able to understand and agree to the facility rules and regulations.
• Act as a subject matter expert by promoting the name of FPM as well as their products and services.

The pay will start at at $9 an hour. After 30 days, you will be raised to $10 an hour. However, you can earn opportunities to receive a raise before then.
