Reed College is a small, distinguished liberal arts institution committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship. The Music Department of Reed College invites applications for a one-year position in musicology as Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2021–2022 academic year. Areas of specialization and scholarly approach are open. Teaching responsibilities will be a two-semester music history sequence plus three one-semester electives of the candidate’s choice. The latter are typically open to both majors and non-majors.

A Ph.D or equivalent and experience in undergraduate teaching is required at time of appointment. The cover letter should make clear the methodological expertise you would bring to the position and electives you might teach.
