The mission of East House is to empower individuals with mental health and substance use disorders to recover and live healthy, fulfilling lives in their community. While many worthy organizations in the Greater Rochester area provide much-needed services to those with mental health and substance use disorders, East House differentiates itself by specializing in providing a continuum of housing options and support services for those in recovery. East House recognizes that those in recovery need a safe and stable place to call home, in addition to a supportive living environment to increase the chances of a lasting, long-term recovery experience when living with mental health or substance use disorders. East House was founded in 1966 and has its corporate offices located in the Monroe Square Building on Monroe Avenue in Rochester. The organization is established as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization and employs approximately 220 employees.

THE OPPORTUNITY – shape the future of a mental health and substance use disorder organization in the Greater Rochester Area

As a member of the organization’s executive leadership team, the VP of Human Resources and Facilities will develop and execute human resource strategies to position East House as an employer of choice in the region. Many terrific organizations are seeking human resource talent in the Greater Rochester area. Why should you contribute your human resource leadership to East House instead of another organization? The answer is simple – relevance and impact. Every individual in our community knows at least one person; a friend, co-worker and/or family member who has experienced a mental health or addiction challenge. Lastly, if you are a human resource leader who has been held back from executing impactful strategies by bureaucratic roadblocks, management rigidity and a stale culture of holding to the “status quo”, you will find a breath of fresh air for your career at East House. We are seeking a true Human Resource leader; someone who delights at the idea of moving our organization forward by leaps and bounds, someone who loves his/her craft and is full of energy and ideas to own and implement. Given East House’s evolution in human resource approach, the successful candidate is free to dream a new future, mentor and motivate staff to develop a culture of engagement, and make a mark on helping Rochesterians on the road to recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.
