We are looking for a compassionate full-time veterinary assistant/receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn new skills and develop their talents as an assistant. Overview of Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing areas of the hospital
• Assist in holding and restraining animals
• Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools
• Ensure exam and operating rooms are stocked
• Assist vet with surgical procedures
• Ensure all cages and kennels are clean
• Administer medications
• Assist in collecting samples such as blood or urine for testing
• Educate owners about animal health, conditions, and proper care
• Light reception duties on occasion
• Greeting patients and Owners
• Weighting animals
• Answering phones
• Scheduling appointments
• Processing payments
• Communicating between clients and staff

Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications

• One year previous experience in animal care
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Basic understanding of animal behavior and health care
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage numerous different patient needs
• Physical ability to restrain larger pets when necessary
• Able to work weekends, extended hours, and holidays
• Greeting visitors
• Scheduling
• Correspondence
• Answering and routing phone calls

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $8.50 to $10.00 /hour

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
