Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team is building new technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services. Our Trust and Safety team plays a key role in enabling Oracle’s security vision.

We're looking for a Trust and Safety Technical Lead with expertise and passion in solving complex problems and designing cutting-edge security controls. This critical role will be responsible for designing and driving implementation of key aspects of our Trust & Safety program, as well as representing our program to customers and industry partners.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and own contacts with industry partners and organizations related to abuse, malware, threat intelligence, and privacy
  • Experience or familiarity with developing security tools in languages such as C/C++, Python, Go, or Java
  • Plan and execute hunting exercises using a variety of data streams to detect and respond to anomalous behavior across the platform
  • Develop scripts and processes to improve detective capabilities and automation
  • Develop anomaly detection dashboards and reports to identify potential threats and suspicious activity
  • Create repeatable processes for continuous testing and monitoring of IOCs following a proven methodology that you help define
  • Research industry trends, identify ongoing security threats, analyze new security testing tools, and provide recommendations on the need and usefulness of services and products
  • Partner with product and service teams across Oracle to develop and implement scalable solutions that address customer and platform requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance
  • Assess potential security solutions and projects for both internal and customer use
  • Provide and receive input from product and platform management on options for meeting customer security needs
  • Support other security functions and teams to ensure holistic implementation of security controls, technologies, practices, and programs
  • Drive technical discussions about security across teams, organizations, and business groups throughout Oracle

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of related cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and/or SOC work experience (monitoring, detection, incident response, forensics)
  • Ability to script/code using C/C++, Python, Go, Java, or equivalent languages
  • Knowledge of cloud computing architecture, particularly in Identity, Compute, and Networking areas
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development and the infrastructure lifecycle
  • Knowledgeable in common security concerns and compensating controls, including email deliverability, phishing, and spam
  • Knowledgeable about industry organizations related to threat intelligence, internet and network abuse, malware, and similar subjects
  • Functional understanding of the full stack of common security controls from OS through application security controls
  • Prior DevSecOps or continuous delivery and deployment experience preferred
  • Proactive demeanor and analytically minded in ambiguity/uncertainty/change

Detailed Description and Job RequirementsDesign, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.
