The Downtown School, an independent 9-12 coeducational day school located near Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington is currently recruiting for a Data and Operations Manager. This is a Long Term Substitute position for family leave in Spring 2020.
The Downtown School Data and Operations Manager is an educational leader and strategic thinker who ensures organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a people person with a sense of humor; specifically one who enjoys teenagers, sees their potential, and rolls with their entertaining antics. This is a full time (1.0 FTE) role reporting to the Head of School.
Office Manager/Special Projects- Supervision of the Commons.
- Manage laptop and charger check-in and out.
- Order supplies.
- Support City-as-Lab logistics.
- Create and disseminate surveys.
Pandemic Coordinator- Support daily health checks for students, faculty and staff.
- Help with execution on daily cleaning regimen.
- Stay on top of new guidelines and best practices.
Support for Head of School- Manage schedule, as needed.
- Support graduation planning and execution.
- All-school communications.
- Contribute to short- and long-term planning and strategy.
Admissions- Support admissions director.
- Create reports.
- Plan, coordinate and support events.
Registrar- Maintain student information and database (Gradelink)
- Track attendance, student data, forms, and follow up with families as needed.
- Coordinate, proof and send grades and comments to families five times per year.
- Input grades and distribute transcripts.
Annual Fund- Manage database including gift entry and acknowledgement letters.
- Produce financial reports for, and liaise with, the Lakeside School business office.
Financial Management- Manage day-to-day processing of accounts payable and receivables, including check requests, reimbursements, clubs and activities budget.
- Various business office support functions.
Advisor- Serve as co-advisor to 15 - 20 students per year.
Qualifications/Experience- A strong comfort with technology and ability to navigate various databases.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills are essential.
- A growth mindset, sense of humor, deep knowledge and respect for teenage brains and strong collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions.
- An understanding of different perspectives, the ability to interact respectfully with cultures other than their own and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
- Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.
