As a Log Aggregation engineer, supporting Adobe managed Splunk, you will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, quality, and availability of the Splunk infrastructure. Candidates who fit this role must have an intermediate to advanced Linux system administration background. Splunk Enterprise experience is a plus.

This position requires strong technical communication, troubleshooting/problem-solving, creativity, and the ability to engage professionally with many teams at Adobe. The candidate would also be expected to take stretch-goals and strive to learn and grow. While this job involves maintaining our Splunk infrastructure, previous experience is not necessarily required. An intermediate to advanced Linux administrator with a desire to learn Splunk would qualify.

What you'll Do
  • Participate in Adobe’s Log Aggregation team – supporting Splunk Enterprise infrastructure which collects over 212TB/day
  • Participate in capacity, monitoring, dashboarding
  • Work together in a geographically and globally diverse team
  • Demonstrate independent thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Automate repetitive tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Innovate new processes when necessary to enhance service delivery
  • Participate in on-call rotations
What you need to succeed

Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving/problem resolution skills
  • Ability to balance priorities in order to meet multiple requirements while ensuring priority objectives receive proper emphasis.
  • 3+ Years Linux OS Administration (RedHat/CentOS preferred)
  • Scripting (Python and/or Bash Preferred)
Pluses:
  • Bachelor’s degree+
  • Splunk Enterprise versions 7.x and/or 8.x Knowledge
  • Splunk ES 6.x Knowledge
  • Linux Certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC, etc.)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Atlassian’s products: JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Configuration Management (Salt (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
  • Experience with Workflow Automation (RunDeck, Jenkins, etc.)
