TSC is seeking an entry level engineer (Systems Engineer I) to support development, testing, and assessment of Navy sensors and combat systems in Silver Spring, MD. This position will focus on development and use of model and simulation of Navy Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems.

The position will support various systems engineering efforts for sophisticated radar, communications, and weapons systems in a software model based environment. Data analysis of fielded systems (hardware and software) will also be performed.

TSC has assembled a well-knit team of junior and senior systems engineers and computer scientists that perform systems engineering in support of critical US Navy functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Simulation set-up and execution as well as data analysis and results presentation will also be involved. Regular and frequent interaction with US Government customers and responsibilities will include both technical and operational tasks.
  • Model development, enhancements or error correction Involved with Navy system test events
  • Significant interaction with other TSC radar system and modeling & simulation engineers as part of the job and provides a great opportunity for career development Documentation and presentation responsibilities, including presentation to mixed audiences of technical, operational, and managerial staff. Strong written and oral communication will also be required for both daily and presentation duties.
  • Assigned tasking will be at both individual and team levels.
  • Graphical data display design, analysis automation
  • Porting code between Windows/Linux
  • Network Programming

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable technical degree well-grounded in Physics and Math.
  • Willingness to work on blend of technical and operational tasks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
  • Interest in Navy’s AEGIS Combat System and Defense technology.
  • Strong written and oral communication will also be required for both daily and presentation duties
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in system design evaluation and testing a significant plus.
  • Skill in C++ or Java preferred (Ada or QT desirable).
  • Comfort in Windows and Linux Environments.
  • Willingness to learn about technical details of the radar systems involved.
  • Signal processing experience a significant plus.
