Responsibilities: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment.Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD or IAHCSMM required in an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Preferred in a Hospital setting. Certified through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support required.
REQUIRED SILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of infection control principles and good communication skills.
