Position Summary:

As a key member of the team, this individual will assist with the community starts process focusing on creating strong streetscape while complying with community requirements, municipality requirements and starts required per the business plan. In addition, this position will assist with municipal submittals and approvals for new communities along with the development of new product lines including single family detached homes, duplexes, town homes and condos.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of architectural plans, elevations and exterior colors and how these create aesthetically pleasing streetscapes
  • Understand and follow community and municipal monotony requirements as outlined by Architectural PM’s when specifying new homes to start
  • Strong understanding of architectural Construction Documents and plans options to work with Sales to specify options of homes to be started
  • Work with Bluebeam and/or Adobe Acrobat to edit community maps that track information on starts, permits and closed homes
  • Communicate starts requests with Sales along with tracking starts requests until they are submitted to Permit Manager
  • Analyze trends and clearly communicate concerns and issues to VP of Architecture and Sales when Sales Counselors are not performing and/or meeting starts requests schedules
  • Product development of single-family detached homes, townhomes, duplexes and condominiums
  • Support entire process from land acquisition through model merchandising
  • Coordinate with design professionals to produce construction documents for bidding and permitting
  • Assist construction managers in the process to ensure homes are built effectively and to company standards
  • Drawing review, quality control, redlining, coordination
  • Effectively communicate construction documents
  • Provide support to field managers during the construction process
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Background:

  • Auto cad experience, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office experience a must.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management.
  • Computer skills as required: Word, Excel, and Outlook experience.

Education and Experience:

  • GED is required (Associates degree preferred). Architecture or Drafting degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience with production home building architecture firm or working for a builder in the product development/architecture department.
