Software Developer II (PL/SQL) Details

This position is responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of internally developed systems that support the custom software required to operate and manage the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions (including code and script) in a secure method and ensure that all systems are working within the security standards of the company
  • Develop software solutions that support the company’s business needs and objectives
  • Create and develop functional requirements
  • Develop code that is modular and reusable to ensure that the system can be scaled up and interfaced with other systems
  • Integrate internal and external systems as required
  • Create and send deployment plan messages to employees of the company
  • Run product backlog meetings for software projects
  • Accurately forecast when a requested feature will be ready for production
  • Debug and trace reported problems to determine the root cause of problems independently
  • Weekly metrics and reporting

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a relevant field from a four-year college or universityExperience:
  • Five years telecommunications industry experience preferred
  • Five years software engineering experience preferred
Required Skills:
  • Experience with PL/SQL Required (Insert Statements/Triggers)
  • Experience with Oracle APEX (Application Express) required

Technical Skills:
  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience with VBA macros preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, and Team Foundation Server
  • Expert in at least one programming language (C/C++/C#, Java, VB/VB.net, etc.)
  • Working experience in scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript, etc.)
  • Working experience in HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
Soft Skills:
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement and solve problems
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
  • Ability to sit at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
