The Wilentz Senior Residence is located on The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living. It is an independent living HUD-subsidized residence for anyone who is age 62 or older or individuals with disabilities. We are seeking a candidate with excellent listening and communication skills who can provide comprehensive social services to our residents. This is a part time position with a schedule of Monday – Friday, 1:00pm – 5:00pm. Qualifications · License: LSW or LCSW (Required) · Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred) · Experience: 5+ years’ experience in social work, county services, and state social services programs. (Required) Bilingual in Chinese or Mandarin, a plus Responsibilities include: · Evaluate existing and new residents based on their needs. · Maintain constant communication with residents while addressing their concerns, needs, and goals. All while helping them keep positive attitudes. · Establish and maintain a positive rapport with residents and their families. · Perform weekly wellness checks. · Act as a liaison between service provider and the resident needing service. · Counsel residents and/or family members on such issues as: General well-being, tenant disputes, depression and loneliness, stress, health concerns, and other identified coping difficulties. · Maintain confidential files and documents of interaction with residents and family members, including plans and tracking outcomes of case management services. · Create new partnerships with agencies to enhance services available. · Complete any HUD based social work reports. · Coordinate Medical Programs and Activities, such as, health screenings, blood pressure screenings, podiatrist appointments, and discussion groups. · Assist residents with applying for the NJ LIHEAP and Cooling Assistance program · Assist Resident Services Coordinator with resident programs and activities to maintain monthly calendar. · Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. · Generate ideas and solutions to problems and assist in implementation. · Support department/organization decisions, projects, and initiatives. · Maintain positive relationships with tenants, staff, supervisors, and other departments.
