The UCSF Pandemic Initiative for Equity and Action (UPIEA) was formed in May of 2020 in response to the COVID-19. UPIEA leverages expertise from throughout UCSF to support pandemic response, including but not limited to policy, programmatic and implementation research. UPIEA’s has been supporting SFDPH in contact tracing and case investigation since March 2020. Specifically, UPIEA has been responsible for the operations and data of the contact tracing program.

The Research Data Analyst will support the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) program team with: deduplication and merging processes in CalCONNECT and data cleaning of all of the contact tracing data. They will be supporting UPIEA and working alongside SFDPH staff to streamline data processes, e.g. creating and running routine scripts.

They will conduct routine CI/CT productivity and quality assurance/improvement (QA/QI) analyses, including report and dashboard development with multiple datasets and visualization platforms. They will be responsible for translating and replicating analyses previously conducted in prior data system(s) to new data platform, CalCONNECT, to ensure continuity of key metrics and conduct ad hoc analyses in close collaboration with SFDPH as requested.

Please note: This is a 100% contract position ending on 6/30/2021.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 1 or more years of directly related experience
  • Working knowledge of research function
  • Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures
  • Working skills in analysis and consultation
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
