POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing test plans on real-time sports systems for data collection and live broadcast, executing those plans, and determine event operations readiness for all releases. You will work on a variety of platforms and with a variety of special-purpose hardware. Your responsibilities will include close interaction with engineering and our operations department. This position entails a heavy load of manual testing on broadcast rendering and tracking applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication is a must. You must be comfortable providing product support to operators at events, manage testing and setting expectations, organizing and communicating results to management and other groups.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee planning, testing, and support of software releases for various sports/applications
  • Oversee SW/HW integration testing for various projects
  • Be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing & release activities
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products
  • Proactively seek out tasks and take ownership to improve the software


QUALIFICATION:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Ability to understand and test a large system with diverse technologies and applications
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action.
  • Must be comfortable reconfiguring computer hardware
  • Must have Hands-on testing experience in Windows
  • Proven bug detection and regression skills
  • Exceptional ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues
  • Some occasional weekend work and travel required


Skills, Accomplishments, and Abilities (preferred)

  • Programming experience with C++ and Python
  • Hands-on experience with Google Test C++ unit test framework
  • Xcode, Android Studio, Visual Studio experience.
  • Experience with SQL, MySQL, MongoDB
  • Experience working in a demanding environment of a live television production
  • Familiarity with bug reporting systems like Jira
  • Knowledge of TV broadcasting equipment
  • Passion and knowledge about sports
  • Video knowledge desirable
