Description: Senior Project Manager (Electrical) Woodbine, MD Pro Power and Electric is a premier commercial electrical contractor serving the MD/DC/VA region. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and results driven Senior Project Manager to work alongside our General Manager to assist in our preconstruction/estimating department, specifically on Government projects. As one of the leaders of our team, the Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing estimates, budgets, and pre-bid packages for our clients. Responsibilities also include preparing formal job bids through interpreting blueprints/drawings, performing take-offs and estimating job costs; and to interface with our clients and their representatives to ensure that technical specifications and designs are feasible and consistent with industry standards. Essential Functions Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, changes orders, and contracts Assesses the requirements of a project to determine the scope of work, schedule of values, budget, and staffing to ultimately write the scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with clients Develop budgets with preliminary plan information and professional knowledge and expertise Collaborate with the client to help them achieve their project cost budget through consideration of plan details, alternate material/finishes and building method Promotes the use of and participates in development of company design and production standards Transmit Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to subcontractors; following up by phone and e-mail to ensure an adequate number of bids will be received and make subcontractors aware of unusual plan requirements Verify Scope of Work from subcontractors and format bids to fulfill all RFP requirements Provides drawing for own designs and produces sketches to incorporate in drawings - must also assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards Experience with design of building electrical systems such as building service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low voltage systems Work closely with each superintendent to provide high-level supervision of various aspects of project management for each project including job start coordination, vendor agreements, materials, purchase order process, subcontract agreements, submittals, and change orders Proactively identify and implement strategies to reduce project costs, maximize production, and enhance customer relations Ensure that PPE teammates are following all safety rules and takes appropriate action if safety hazards are identified Supervise and manage team members; set goals and evaluate performance for team members Develop and manage high level strategic planning of our labor force Consistently evaluate and train field staff to promote individual and organizational growth Additional Responsibilities/Qualifications Candidate must have previous electrical project management experience and demonstrate an ability to successfully manage large projects such as government facilities and large office buildings Familiarity with Accudbid, RS Means, and Vista Viewpoint software Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and evaluate a team Journeyman's license is a plus Help cultivate an environment of learning and growth for the organization By-in to our company culture and core values and help implement them in the field Reporting to this position: Site Superintendents The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
