Summary:
The Pre-Cert Prior Authorization Coordinator is responsible for handling the authorization process for specialized procedures, ensuring that appropriate authorizations and referrals are requested and received in accordance with the payer-provider contract and recorded in the patient's medical record.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or experience equivalent required.
- Clinical degree preferred. Preferred.
- Must have sound knowledge of managed care, medical terminology, precert process, claims, and ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Skilled at tactful and diplomatic interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain focused on detailed work with multiple distractions.
- Ability to remain productive and positive in a stressful work environment.
- Ability to prioritize daily workflow.
