Summary

We are currently seeking experienced pre authorization specialist to join our Billing Team that works out of our administrative office in Raleigh.

• Determining authorization requirements for scheduled procedures.
• Verifying and troubleshooting eligibility results from automated and manual eligibility platforms.
• Verifying authorization and/or medical necessity requirements are met prior to services being rendered.
• Communicate with patients, referring providers or others as necessary to facilitate the authorization process though phone or fax.
• Follow policy and procedure when required authorization is not in place prior to services being rendered.
• Answer provider, co-worker and patient questions regarding insurance authorization requirements.
• Appropriately prioritize workload, ensuring cases are handled in a timely manner and documented accurately.
• Proactively manages and maintains outstanding authorizations through completion.

• Ability to prioritize workload in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of accuracy and productivity.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of online insurance websites for eligibility verification and authorization verification.
• Prior experience with insurance verification, insurance authorization and strong customer service background is preferred.
