West Virginia University Division of Facilities & Services is currently accepting applications for a Plumbing Trades Specialist I. Under the supervision of the Plumbing Shop Manager and Lead II Pipefitter, this position performs journeyman level pipefitting, steam fitting, maintenance, installation, and repair work as outlined by University guidelines. What you'll do: Two to Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of piping and/or steam distribution systems Ability to maintain proper attendance and punctuality standards. Qualifications
Broad trade knowledge or specific technical education received from a formal apprentice or vocational training program of up to 18 months beyond high school in the piping or steam-fitting field.
Ability to maintain average or above work standards.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to sketch line drawings.
Ability to work on scaffolds and ladders at various heights.
Knowledge of usage of metric system pertaining to unit.
Understanding of occupational health and safety standards and procedures.
Familiarity with basic principles in the areas of blueprint reading, general mathematics, applied chemistry, and physics.
Valid Driver’s License.
Journeyman pipefitter or steamfitter certification preferred
