Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Interprets monitors and analyzes information as it relates to payroll processing. Processes payroll per establish guidelines and timing. Reviews data before and after the actual payroll process. Performs functions in support of the day-to-day operations of the Payroll Services area. Provides feedback in planning and development of department goals, strategies, and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors, researches and resolves time-keeping issues, including missing punches
  • Processes payroll cycle for bi-weekly, monthly and faculty payrolls in accordance with the established procedures and protocols
  • Reviews and resolves employee questions regarding time reporting, accruals, direct deposit rejects and absence requests
  • Researches and processes deductions adjustments
  • Researches and responds to employee questions and inquiries regarding issues, processes, policies and procedures
  • Responds to audit and monitoring requests from both internal and external resources
  • Responsible for reviewing the data entry and balancing of the Special Pay Requests
  • Oversees processing and submission of mail merge requests for absences and/or missed punches
  • Provides administrative support to the department; answers phones, responds to e-mails, etc.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
Two (2) years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or a related field is preferred

Preferred Experience
Higher Education experience preferred
Previous payroll experience preferred

Able to maintain confidentiality of payroll records Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of general payroll processes, rules and regulations Knowledge of overall payroll processing

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
