Position Overview:

The Part-time HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting a variety of HR functional areas including, with a primary focus in Talent Acquisition. Additionally, the Part-time HR Generalist will be responsible for working with HR leadership to assist with planning to support the Company’s business strategy. This part-time position is expected to work approximately 16-24 hours per week (occasionally less or more depending on business needs) and be available Monday-Friday.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meet with managers to identify active and potential staffing needs; prepare recruiting plans to address these needs.
  • Work with proposal team to develop staffing plans and perform recruiting to secure key resources necessary for submitting a competitive proposal.
  • Build network of government contracting industry professionals via LinkedIn; leverage relationships to source qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Recruit for openings via relevant job boards, hiring groups, or by utilizing RPOs or other recruiting resources.
  • Serve as a friendly and professional representative of VPD Government Solutions by managing communications with candidates (selected and unselected for offers).
  • Assist HR Director with special projects and administrative HR tasks and functions.
  • Assist in streamlining and documenting recruiting processes and knowledge management.
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Provide employee personal and deduction information to payroll
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
  • Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
  • Maintain employee personnel records.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience required
  • 2+ years of Recruiting experience required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills required
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently
  • Detail-oriented and driven to perform high-quality work
  • Proficiency with Technology including remote work tools such as Zoom or Teams; Microsoft products, and Google Drive/Gmail
  • Proficiency leveraging industry best practice recruiting tools (LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Work Location

The majority of the Company’s services are performed in/around the Washington, DC area

This position is remote, but preference will be given to candidates in the Kansas City, MO metro area or the Washington, DC DMV area
