The City of Tamarac is seeking qualified applicants for two Part-Time Park Rangers to work in the City's Parks. This is a part-time position (29 hours a week) working three evenings a week, weekends and holidays. Under general supervision, provides information to the public on Parks and Recreation services and educates park users on the rules and regulations of the park facilities to ensure a safe and secure park experience. Identifies and reports security and maintenance issues. Assists with parks and recreation programs and special events as directed. Reports to Recreation Superintendent or designee. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides superior customer service and acts as a source of information and assistance to inform public of park information by explaining and interpreting rules, regulations, laws, ordinances and municipal codes.
Performs related duties as required.
Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by two (2) years of experience working with the general public in a parks and recreation setting or customer service position or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification to include AED within one year of employment. Must obtain and maintain Crowd Manager Certification within one year of date-of-hire.
