Operations Manager Job Description

• Hire, schedule, train, mentor, discipline, evaluate, fire production, packaging, shipping employees;
• Schedule and manage production, packaging, shipping and deliveries;
• Create bills of lading, cross docks, and other logistics paperwork;
• Secure and maintain supplier relations;
• Negotiate pricing and quantities for packaging, equipment, goods and services;
• Procure and manage inventory of raw and packaging materials and finished goods;
• Manage and oversee production policies and associated documentation, including safety, company rules and regulations, and production and operations procedures (ex. SQF, SOPs, HACCP, MSDS);
• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance of facilities and equipment, and oversee emergencies;
• Oversee production and quality control;
• Plan and implement systems for decreasing costs and increasing efficiency and effectiveness of production and operations;
• Oversee new product development;
• Other duties as warranted.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in production/ line management;

- Strong organizational and communications skills;

- Excellent computer skills;

- Food industry and food safety experience preferred;

- Entrepreneurial spirit a must, and sense of humor a bonus!

Starting salary: $40-44,000/ yr., health insurance option after 90-day introductory review, job-related training, annual reviews with raises contingent on performance.
