JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides clerical support for OB. Admits patients into Labor, works with physician offices to schedule procedures, prepares birth certificates, monitors HUGS alarm system, coordinates breast pump rentals. Schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients; assembles and maintains patients’ charts, answers telephone and intercom calls; provides routine information and relays calls and messages.

Responsible for providing timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, and medical information systems. Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for the above processes. Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment is secured. Interacts in a customer-focused manner to ensure the needs of patients and their families are met and that they understand the hospital’s revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.

Hours: Part-time (0.6FTE) 12 hr night shifts 7pm-7:30am various shifts during the week and rotating weekends and holidays

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Computer training and medical terminology
