  • Serve as an academic advisor for an assigned case load of MANE and pre-MANE students. Provide a wide range of academic advising services, in person, online, through phone and email advising and other appropriate strategies, including explanation of program and university requirements and policies, developmental advising, degree planning, graduation approval and retention support services, in accordance with university, college, and professional standards;
  • Serve as the lead admissions and enrollment representative for MANE. Represent MANE, the university, and community colleges and their policies and programs professionally;
  • Collaboratively develop, implement, and manage expansion of MANE’s dual admission program to partnering institutions;
  • Provide information and advice to prospective, accepted and current MANE students regarding dual admission at all MANE campuses;
  • Assist in developing, organizing and delivering information sessions for MANE locally and in greater Minnesota. Support the baccalaureate philosophy of nursing education by encouraging students to seamlessly complete the baccalaureate degree;
  • Maintain relationships and initiate recruitment strategies with MANE programs in the surrounding areas. This includes conducting program information meetings, developing advising resources and materials, and maintaining liaison with college and university faculty and staff;
  • Serve as enrollment manager, assisting dual admission students in the transition from enrollment with the community college to enrollment with the university.
Required Qualifications

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:

  • Earned Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of academic advising or related professional experience (e.g., admissions, recruitment or enrollment experience) at an accredited institution of higher education;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team to lead implementation of improvement projects;
  • Demonstrated experience serving an ethnically and culturally diverse student body;
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, intercultural, oral and written);
  • Demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic advising experience (face-to-face and remote);
  • Experience advising students in health care related programs;
  • Ability to foster and build relationships to benefit dual admission partnerships;
  • Experience working with computer-based student records systems preferred.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Will require ability to drive between MANE campuses, both within the metropolitan area and in out-state Minnesota. Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Even though the weights being lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.
Other Requirements

Salary: This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range B position with a salary range of $36,632 (minimum) to $63,747 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.

Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE): A transformative four-year nursing program for Minnesota. MANE is an alliance of University and Community Colleges brought together to increase access to a high-quality baccalaureate degree for nursing students in Minnesota. Currently, housed at Metropolitan State Univeristy, Office of the President. MANE is a comprehensive four-year curriculum designed to address Minnesota’s growing demand for baccalaureate educated nurses in the workforce. RN Licensure is not required to complete the MANE degree program. The curriculum is spiraled; building upon concepts throughout the entire degree program plan. Students may apply and be accepted to MANE either directly to the university or through dual admission with a community college and the university. Through dual admission, MANE enables students to remain at their community college home campus throughout the 6 semesters of the curriculum and attainment of the baccalaureate degree, allowing ease of access to education in their geographic home community.
