KC Scribes is currently hiring medical scribes for immediate part-time openings available at Independence, MO. We are seeking individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare with previous medical or health care experience to work with one or multiple physicians.

As a scribe, you will work closely with the physician and their team to document patient visits, support workflow, and documentation for medical record coding. Scribing is a great way to observe patient-provider interactions firsthand while learning to think like a physician.

Medical experience, medical certifications, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and experience with electronic health records are a plus but are not required. We provide on-site training in the clinics we are hiring for and offer the opportunity to work with multiple physicians.

DESIRABLE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Recent health science graduate/gap year/deferred acceptance premedical students with a GPA of 3.0 or above looking to gain practical, PAID experience in a patient care setting prior to applying to medical, dental, nursing, or physician assistant school
• Certified Medical Assistant License, Certified athletic trainer, or previous scribe experience
• Orthopedic experience and/or basic medical knowledge
• Medical terminology
• Ability to work at least 20 and up to 40 hours per week (part-time and full-time positions available) with predictable office hours
• 1+ year commitment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to listen attentively to the physician and clinic staff
• Ability to troubleshoot and quickly learn on the job to pick up terminology and procedures, and follow instructions
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute
• Experience with EMR systems
• Compliance with practice policies, including HIPAA
• Excellent job attendance (Our physicians count on you!)
