The Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties to assist the organization in achieving its goals in regards to patient care and patient outcomes. The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with other healthcare professionals to provide quality health care to the patient. The Medical Assistant is educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment. The Medical Assistant will perform various customer service duties including responding to inquiries, obtaining information, and providing information on URAM and its services within legal guidelines and agency policies. The primary administrative responsibility is for the intake and registration of clients to the clinic, including insurance verification, fee assessment, and cashiering, presumptive eligibility for Medicaid, referrals, scheduling appointments and data input. The Medical Assistant will have routine access to individually identifiable health information including the clients’ entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. The Medical Assistants clinical responsibilities include rooming the patient, performing tests according to scope and training, anticipating provider and patient needs. The Medical Assistant is an integral member of the Care Team. Education and Certification: Minimum associate degree in health care related program or equivalent health care related college credits. Certificate in health care discipline (medical assistant) preferred. Eligible for Certified Medical Assistant Examination years’ experience in medical office a must, with 2 years’ experience with managed care requirements and medical billing. Phlebotomy Certification. BLS certification.

Pay: Up to $40,000.00 per year
