NAU Urology Specialists is currently looking for a MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our growing team! This will be a full time position in our north locations (Round Rock and North Austin).
Position Description
- Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a urology Provider
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information in patients' charts
- May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Handle prescription authorizations and denials
- Schedule management and prep
- Facilitate communication and needs between Patient and Provider
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Preferred but not required - 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinic setting
- BLS certification required upon hire and must be kept current throughout employment
- Spanish preferred but not required
