Job Description

Directs and coordinates multiple operations required for production in clean-room manufacturing environments. Specific areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, injection molding, automated packaging, material handling, quality, and line maintenance. Maintains production schedules based on product requirements and material supply. Manages line utilization, efficiencies, and direct/indirect labor. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essentinal Job Functions:
  • Responsible for direct supervision of all work centers within the department.
  • Instrumental in assuring schedule adherence according to guidelines set by production control.
  • Product quality in each area as set by manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Responsible for individual job cost control and overall cost improvement of departments.
  • Responsible for proper scheduling and shifting of labor as required for attaining schedule adherence and proper cost controls.
  • Enforcement of safe working conditions and relays necessary safety data to management.
  • Ensures equitable treatment is given to all employees within the department.
  • Provides a professional interaction between support group and management.
  • Focus on reducing manufacturing costs, labor, operations, and lead time.
  • Justify improvement with current/future state costs and benefits.
  • Document progress, technical specifications, and requirements.
  • Train operators on new or revised processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personally exhibit excellent skills and capabilities to effectively solve assembly problems.
  • A demonstrated ability to relate and interrelate with support and peer groups.
  • Willingness to accept change and the ability to affect policy and technical changes.
  • Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to assess situations and develop effective solutions.
Education and Experience:
  • BS Degree preferred or related amount of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' progressive responsibilities.
