POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the remote coding employees as well as monitoring processes and personnel for the Centralized Coding Center. Acts as a coding resource for facility/HSC coding staff, HIMD and medical staff as needed. Participates in the identification of educational areas for the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Additional Information: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education: Associate degree in health-related field required. Experience: Minimum of eight years coding experience in an acute care hospital setting with the ability to code all patient types in the acute care hospital setting. Must have background in coding management or HIM department management. Certifications: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required with Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
