The Logistics Specialist leads a team of 5 to 20 people and reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor. This position is responsible for planning daily materials support to production lines and maintain materials inventory. The Logistics specialists will coordinate planning, prepare, and communicate schedules for the logistics team, while working closely with the planning team and production teams to manage raw material needs. The Logistics specialists will receive shipments, process purchase orders, and handle administrative functions as directed.
Here's what you'll do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the start-up activities of the area, including staffing needs, equipment availability, production schedule, and special requests from the procurement team
  • Determine daily material needs for production
  • Monitor team member's hours, breaks, lunch periods, and schedules as efficiently as possible to minimize production downtime
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inventory of raw materials
  • Work with other Logistics Specialists to manage immediate tasks as well as outages and special requests
  • Assist in the continuous improvement efforts in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People
  • Ensure KPIs are met and develop action plans on outages
  • Conduct Safety and GMP audits to ensure compliance to Wonderful Citrus standards
  • Inspect equipment and complete work orders as necessary
  • Responsible for operating computer systems to track attendance and productivity
  • Read and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform daily auditing of the cleanliness and 5S organization of the area
  • Interpret company policies and procedures to team members
  • Ensure team members are trained in the safe and efficient operation of equipment in their area
  • Conduct safety incident investigations and complete necessary paperwork
  • Review forklift operator work practices to ensure SOPs and FIFO is followed
  • Complete any additional tasks as required by the department supervisors and manager
  • Coach and inspire each member of their area to achieve a higher level of performance
  • Be a good role model in the department

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years of experience leading in a warehousing environment or related field.
  • Experience in handling inventory, inventory analysis, and materials planning.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in oral and written form
  • Forklift operation experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and attention to details
  • Proficient at office programs; excellent Microsoft Excel skills highly desired
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish desirable
  • Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced work setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical skills, and coaching skills
