JOB PURPOSE

Coordinating and monitoring supply chain operations, optimize shipping and transport procedures.

Coordinate freight forwarder personnel and processes to achieve the effective distribution of goods.

AUTHORITY

Every collaborator has the authority to stop operations or refuse to execute an activity, when it is not under the necessary safety conditions, as well as request immediate correction.

ROL AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Contract negotiation and management ensuring optimal economics within contracted terms. With logistics suppliers (SSL, Trucking, Isotanks, Flexitanks, Railcars, LCL).
  • Reporting of shortages, loss control for supplier claims.
  • Strategic suppliers relationship for market insights that helps the decision making with Procurement and Commercial areas, for strategic purchases, ready to invoice inventory and competitors benchmarks.
  • Global insurance policy management and claims.
  • Global freight negotiations for containerized transport modes.
  • Control of different transport modes and incoterms conditions, within the delivery status and the customers concerns.
  • Compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that pertain to the inland, outbound, trucking, ocean , and air freights.
  • Negotiation with logistics suppliers and international freight forwarders for shipments in accordance with the negotiated incoterm. In transportation modes such but not limited to Railcars, Containers, Flexitanks, LCL, Isotanks.
  • Optimize logistics costs. Principals Relationship Management with shipping lines, Railcars, Isotanks, Freight Forwarders.
  • Maintain an updated list of plant requirements (Prior Lists) for loading terminals.
  • Pursue for the best alternatives in ports of dispatch and arrival.
  • Manage throughput contracts between terminals, for product transfer processes between modes of transport to Tanks and / or vessels.
  • Management of KPIs and Operational metrics, among them: Extra-Costs of Packaging Logistics, performance of Shipping Companies and Freight Forwarders.
  • Manage contacts and contracts with ground transportation companies to support logistics operations and / or generate competitiveness with Freight Forwarders and Carriers.
  • Coordination with suppliers and international freight forwarder for the follow-up and shipment of purchase orders in accordance with the negotiated incoterm.
  • Streamlines shipping and transportation processes.
  • Report all work incidents, occupational diseases as well as unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Inform the brigade of any Emergency Situation.
  • Comply with the rules, regulations, and instructions of the MASS Management System.
  • Inform comprehensive health care and provide clear, truthful, and complete information about the health state.
  • Comply with rules, regulations, and instructions of the company's occupational health programs.
  • Participate in the prevention of occupational risks through the joint occupational health and safety committees and identification of risks in the activities of your job position.

QUALITICATION & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Operations / Logistics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or industry relevant subject.

Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree (X)

EXPERIENCE

Advanced experience (3+ years) of Import and Export Areas, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain.

  • Handle shipment risks or dangerous cargo; ensure that every shipment operation is executed in an appropriate manner.
  • Principles of cargo stowage understand the principles of cargo stowage, procedures by which containers should be efficiently loaded and unloaded.
  • Cargo industry thoroughly understand the cargo industry and its stakeholders, the structure of the industry and common challenges, and the operations of freight forwarders, airline cargo units, and others.
  • Consider constraints in maritime shipping, specific to maritime shipping such as: the maximum draught of ships; the depth of channels and canals; tide measures; and the respective impact on load capacity.
  • Leadership to manage suppliers and vendors, colleagues in affiliates in different countries in the import/export departments.
