We are seeking a Legal Operations Manager for our headquarters in Franklin, TN.

Summary

Our successful Legal Operations Manager candidate will be an organized, efficient, proactive and responsive self-starter. They’ll be authentic and passionate, demonstrating the ability to multitask and pivot in a fast-paced environment. Not only will they be able to pivot quickly, but they’ll also be able to dive into the details on all said task to complete them thoroughly.

Responsibilities

The Legal Operations Manager (“LEA”) is a critical member of the Legal Department at Landmark Recovery. LEA will work closely with the General Counsel (“GC”) to provide admin support to the Legal Department. The core function of this position to make sure that the in-house lawyers can focus on being lawyers. All members of the Legal Department should collectively ask whether a particular task requires a lawyer to handle. If it does not, the LEA should handle the task.

Note that this role extends far beyond simple clerical work like scanning, mailing, printing, etc. Yes, the LEA will help with those tasks. But the LEA will also help manage the day-to-day operations of the many legal/corporate compliance programs at Landmark. The LEA will also help the in-house attorneys on real estate transactions and other projects that require significant research and due diligence. The LEA will play a critical role in helping us develop, document, and organize reference materials, forms, and standard operating procedures.

  • Help with the Contract Management Program include document proofreading, complete relevant procedures, manage version control, abstracting key terms and entering data, reminding attorneys on key dates, and alerting team on any concerns regarding abstracts
  • Help with the Corporate Compliance Program including the formation and maintenance of entities, licenses, filings, registrations, tax returns, insurance, audits, etc.
  • Due Diligence of documentation including exhibit verification and organization
  • Systematization of process and technology within the Legal Department
  • Handle various clerical work like scanning, mailing, printing, etc.
  • Create heavily formatted documents like organization charts
  • Contact municipalities and other government agencies to get answers to simple questions
  • Travel occasionally with other members of the Legal Department if they need help outside HQ
  • Assist the GC with scheduling meetings, conference calls, and other calendar items
  • Assist the GC with making travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, and compile documents for travel-related meetings
  • Monitor the emails of the GC to ensure that the GC is not missing any critical emails

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. No prior legal experience required.

The Legal Operations Manager will be at our Franklin, TN office.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
