Overview:Amazon CareAmazon Care is a new venture launched by Amazon in 2019 as a pilot service for Amazon employees and their families in the Seattle area. It is a medical care service designed to make healthcare easy. There are five pillars for effective care delivery at Amazon Care: access, comprehension, coordination, relationships, and community orientation. CULTURE KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The best of both virtual and in-person care, Amazon Care offers access to health providers, live, from iOS or Android mobile devices. Participants can chat with nurses and have real-time video visits with nurse practitioners and physicians. They also have access to registered nurses for in-home or in-office follow up for services like vaccinations, blood testing, urinalysis, medical consultation, and prescription drug delivery.
Amazon Care does not replace traditional in-office primary care offered through Amazon insurers. It is a complementary service to help busy Amazon employees and their dependents have flexible, predictable, instant access to high-quality healthcare wherever they are and whenever they need it.
Amazon Care will assist with acute ailments (e.g., colds, allergies, minor injuries), preventive health and testing (e.g., vaccinations, contraception, routine labs, sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing), and general personal health questions.
Amazon has contracted with Oasis Medical Group to offer this healthcare services benefit. Oasis Medical Group is a private, Seattle-based medical practice consisting of licensed physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners.
