Lead Driver Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with contractors and freight agents to manage settlements and Com-Vault use.
  • Audit and approve invoices and coordinate with corresponding vendors.
  • Prepare systems and team members for nightly dispatch and manage load IDs.
  • Coordinate with customers, carrier relations and compliance to onboard drivers and warehouse workforce.
  • Manage temp employee schedules and hours.
  • Coordinate with freight partners and independent contractors to address daily projections and needs.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Build relationships with customers to ensure continued operating improvements.
  • Communication at all organizational levels.
  • Use of computers including Microsoft Office and other programs.
  • Operate vehicles that do not require a commercial driver’s license.
  • Pick-up loads and organize freight in an ordered, logical manner.
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected facilities.
  • Obtain signatures and/or electronic scans to confirm and complete deliveries.
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed.
  • Confirm contents of each shipment load matches manifest materials.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs, as applicable.
  • Ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and behaving with integrity in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulatory standards (including, but not limited to OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, traffic laws).
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors.
