Description: Position Summary The Industrial Hygienist will have a deep understanding of the interaction between environmental hazards and human health in commercial settings. Competent with sampling and analysis of potential hazards. Strong background in science with a strong interest in the impact of environment on health. Essential Functions Education and Experience Work Environment GHP Industrial Hygienists operate in a professional office environment and in the field (which includes client’s offices, hospitals, hotels, schools, government buildings, and other locations). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop or tablet computers and smartphones, and special equipment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Travel Extensive travel is required for many GHP Projects, and an Industrial Hygienist will need to visit Project sites. Every effort is made to return an employee to their home city as often as the project allows. Bi-weekly is strived for but not guaranteed.
