This position is located in Elk Grove Village, IL. Work will be performed onsite, this is not a remote work position. Seeking an Industrial Automation Mechanic with primary responsibility to perform precision assembly and test operations on automation process lines and equipment for a high-tech manufacturing company that is a global supplier to the aerospace industry for machine tools and equipment. The Automation Mechanic is responsible for working as part of the automation team in the assembly of electrical/mechanical components, installation, and testing automated elements of the systems in a safe and consistent manner for the performances. Additionally, the mechanic will participate in the development of the automated systems, interfaces, and operational procedures. Position will require 8-12 weeks of travel to Germany for training during the first half of 2022 as well as occasional travel to customer site for equipment installation. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 2-4 years of related work experience in an industrial environment. Qualifications: Preferred Skills / Qualifications: · Vocational degree/certification in related field of study · Well-developed understanding of automation processes related to manufacturing and assembly equipment · Basic knowledge of fabrication methods · Basic knowledge of welding processes MIG/TIG · Basic knowledge of machining processes and of operation of lathe and mills · Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills · Possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude · Works well in a team setting and can effectively multi-task on simultaneous projects.
