Position summary:


We are seeking an accomplished leader to propel our effort in data sciences, building world-class capabilities in computational biology and informatics. This position represents a leadership role and will help to shape our scientific strategy, discovery biology vision, and corporate success.

Responsibilities:
  • Set cohesive data strategy across the scientific organization to enable drug discovery platforms and projects
  • Develop strategy and management of informatic tools for data access and visualization across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Drive identification of biomarkers and biological insights from large multi-omic oncology cell-line datasets
  • Help build and maintain a targeted protein degradation knowledgebase
  • Recruit and supervise senior computational biologists
  • Train and mentor junior data scientists
  • Collaborate to build a leading data science team using internal and external resources for IT, programming, and engineering
  • Help to develop and implement our broader scientific strategy
  • Help to build and maintain a highly supportive, positive and data-driven company culture
Qualifications:
  • PhD in life sciences or computer science
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Track record of publication and/or contributions to successful drug discovery programs
  • Experience in informatics and IT solutions for a genomics-oriented, cloud-based, startup biotech
  • Comfortable working with management and bench scientists to identify and implement solutions to complex business and research issues
  • Experience with scientific data management platforms, cloud computing, reproducible research, and vendor management
  • Proven ability to work with different disciplines within biology and chemistry to support in-silico research
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to effectively present strategic vision to the company and to other stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects
