KAAP is expanding and taking resumes for the following position: Environmental Health and Safety Technician

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to identify and remediate hazardous workplace conditions and environmental impacts.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate the storage and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and/or wastes
  • Order/stock EHS-related supplies
  • Investigate, analyze and report on any accidents or unsafe events and provide support on preventive solutions and countermeasures
  • Support the development of an environmentally and safety-conscious culture through effective training and education programs.
  • Provide support to EHS Engineers and Supervisor by ensuring that project/department tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Respond to urgent calls in the event of a plant emergency, including but not limited to: work-related injuries & illnesses, fires/chemical spills, environmental incidents
  • Follow and promote all safety rules and regulations.


Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Good knowledge of OSHA and EPA rules & regulations
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team or independently.
  • Willing to work a standard 12-hour shift on either a day or night shift schedule
  • Willing to work flexible schedule as necessary
  • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy, industrial environment.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
