The Role:

The Wet Etch & Cleans New Product Development group is looking for a motivated and team-oriented individual to join our dynamic and collaborative group, focused on product & process development for liquid filtration products, as an Engineering Technician 2nd shift. The core purpose of this role is to support the engineering team with lab related activities to allow the group to more rapidly develop new products and processes. This position reports to the NPD Core Capabilities engineering team lead and receives work instruction from all engineers within the group.

This role is based at our Billerica, MA facility.In this role you will:

• Run R&D equipment to process filtration devices and collect metrology data
• Assist with Design of Experiments and execute daily experimental duties
• Assist with start-up and commissioning of new lab equipment
• Follow standard test practices and procedures
• Collect samples and submit requests for analysis in the QA and/or Analytical Labs
• Complete documentation relevant to the role including:
• Compile and document experimental results
• Write technical reports and communicate testing status verbally and in writing
• Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for common procedures
• Assist with assemble of filtration device prototypes
• Complete routine cleaning and maintenance of R&D equipment and maintain good housekeeping and organization within the lab
• Work with other groups including New Product Introduction, Manufacturing, Analytical, EH&S, etc. as needed to support R&D work orders
• Package & ship material when needed
• Order materials, chemicals, and products from warehouse

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

• 2 years laboratory or chemical handling experience, or 2 years of service in Manufacturing or Quality/Analytical environment, or 2-year degree in science or engineering field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Attention to detail, systematic approach, good record keeper, neat
• Good communication skills
• Self-starter, takes on additional tasks without direction, and completes tasks with minimum supervision once trained
