Engineering Technical Specialist

Provides technical support to Raymond Solutions and Support Centers through efforts of technical training creation and review, technical documentation creation and review, and communication efforts. Works closely with Development Engineering, Technical Publications, Instructional Design, and Field Service teams to provide technical feedback and assistance in creating field supporting material for Automated Product lines and iWAREHOUSE® Product lines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluates new and existing product lines for training needs;
- Evaluates new and existing product lines for technical publication updates;
- Reviews and provides technical feedback on training activities;
- Reviews and provides technical feedback on technical publication documents;
- Develop and validate pinout matrix for electrical troubleshooting;
- Analyze troubleshooting steps for documentation correctness and accuracy;
- Creates and updates Standard Work Documentation;
- Assists Training groups by providing training and support for Solutions and Support Centers;
- Provide technical feedback to cross functional teams from field data;
- Perform and document work instructions for validation of methods;
- Provide field feedback on ease of use and application of software interfaces;
- High attention to detail;
- Able to communicate technical items through non-technical documentation;
- Specialized knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering technologies;
- Analyze data to troubleshoot and resolve field issues;
- Defines and documents best practices and works to continuously improve them;
- Provides training to other employees, partners, advocates and customers;
- Knowledge of Raymond Material Handling equipment is preferred;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Power Point;
- Strong Project management skills preferred;
- High level of self-motivation and initiative;
- Experience with mechanical and electrical tools;
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics;
- Ability to navigate computer programs and wide variety software interfaces
Two year technical degree (or equivalent) with a specialized knowledge of math and physics or an engineering discipline. 2-3 years’ experience. Experience in the Material Handling industry preferred. Has the ability to plan, organize, and carry out technical activities with little to no supervision. Competent in applicable PC applications. Works effectively in groups and in individual situations. Possesses effective written and oral communication skills. Has the ability to present technical material to a technically diverse audience as well as a non-technically diverse audience.
