Engineering Product Manager/Advocate Details

SDS2 is looking to add an Engineer Product Manager to our growing team! The Engineer Product Manager will drive the engineering strategy for the future of SDS2 Engineering Product. The EPM will be responsible for leading a development team in creating the SDS2 Engineering Product and bringing it to market. This will consist of creating a product map of model functionality and a set of deliverables that will meet and exceed industry requirements. It will require conducting regular market research to ensure the product vision and development stay in alignment with the core values of SDS2 (Reliable, Collaborative, Innovative) while staying focused on current and future of 4 target markets:

  • Industrial Engineering
  • Design/Build Projects
  • Construction Services
  • Connection Engineering/Fabrication focus

The EPM will additionally be responsible for:


  • Creating technical/marketing content such as articles and white papers
  • Creating and delivering relevant technical presentations at conferences and events
  • Creating and delivering technical webinars
  • General promotion of SDS2’s technical expertise in connection engineering
  • Represent SDS2 at relevant industry committees and technical forums
  • Collaboration with the development team to build an industry leading product

It is imperative that this person be passionate and knowledgeable about connection design and the steel fabrication industry. The following knowledge and experience will be beneficial:


  • Detailed understanding of bolted steel connection design and detailing
  • Experience of working in at least one of the target markets (listed above) and an understanding of the others
  • Understanding of connection design workflows in the target markets
  • Understanding of the challenges the industry faces in connection design and a vision of how to overcome these challenges
  • Understanding of how connection design can benefit fabrication efficiency
