Our life-saving team provides first-line medical or emergency care for sick and injured people at the scene and are trained to provide immediate lifesaving care for critical patients. Completion of an accredited Training Program required for licensing. Must have a thorough knowledge of emergency medical technician (EMT) principles, practices and techniques, knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and depending upon location, national registry status as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level may be required. Depending on state requirements, individuals may need to have a state license. National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS100, 200, and 700 completed, and continuing education hours as mandated by accreditation. Additional training, provided workshops, or staff meetings attended as per policy. Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record. Must be 18 years or older, approval needed for those under 21 to drive. May not be required for those in a Hospital setting. All driving policies, driving assignments, and insurance verification, etc. is all determined by the department leader and needs within the department and staffing.
