Dispatcher under general supervision is responsible for receiving and disseminating emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatching to appropriate responding personnel. General administrative work as well as data entry. Essential Duties include but are not limited to:- Receive incoming telephone calls for Law Enforcement from all areas within McKenzie County
- Route calls to the proper authority
- Track units and maintain cognizant knowledge of all field units as to their status and location throughout the assigned shift
- Monitor, receive, and broadcast calls on multiple radio frequencies and dispatch required units according to established procedures
- Relay information and messages to field personnel as required
Job Requirements:- Be of excellent moral character
- Obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate verbally in a distinct, clear, concise and pleasant manner in a variety of circumstances
- Excellent organizational skills and customer service
- Ability to follow written and verbal requests
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends and holidays
- No misdemeanor convictions in the last three years
- No domestic violence convictions
- No felony convictions
- Eligible to receive ND CJIS and NCIC certification upon employment
Experience:- No prior dispatch experience is required
Starting hourly wage is $24.46/hour to $26.48/hour depending on experience.
