Software Developer IV (Full Stack Software Developer)

Position Overview: *
Iteris is looking for a motivated team member who wants to develop innovative technologies to connect entire cities, make transportation systems safer and more efficient. In this key role, you will work within Iteris' Transportation Analytics team, which is a core group of software engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers.

What you'll be doing: *
- Develop and enhance Iteris' industry leading transportation analytics products which collect, analyze, and visualize traffic data to help federal, state and local governments make smart investment decisions and improve safety.
- Collaborate with product and technical staff on product road-map and R&D planning
- Collaborate in the process of conceiving, specifying, designing, programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications, frameworks, or other software components.
- Participate in the process of writing and maintaining the source code from concept to launch
- Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects
- Design algorithms and workflows to create new software programs and systems, producing efficient code based on requirements, and testing and deploying programs and applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software.
- Learn new technologies in collaboration with the principal software developers and architecture to support product innovation.
- Develop Web, JavaScript and database applications that either consume data, act as a web application, or provide an endpoint/API for data access.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- 7+ years software development experience; front-end and back-end
- 3+ years of experience using Python
- 3+ years of experience with Python web frameworks (and ORM) with Django (preferred), or Flask
- 3+ years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular.js (preferred), React.js, or Vue.js
- Ability to work directly with Subject Matter Experts to translate requirements into specifications and code
