What began as the Flying Tomato and five days a week lunch spot serving on paper plates with plastic forks has evolved into a tradition of freshly preparing breads, dressings and desserts each morning as well as serving as a supporter of Knoxville’s culture, neighborhood, and people. With food as the focus, The Tomato Head has also served as a venue to musical acts, poetry readings, and performance art. It continues to host monthly exhibits that celebrate local artist efforts. To learn more about Mahasti Vafaie and the history of The Tomato Head, we suggest reading the Knoxville News Sentinel article Tomato head’s Mahasti Vafaie: Leading with her heart Delivery Drivers will carry food from the restaurant to our customers wherever they are, home, work or elsewhere. Drivers will use their personal vehicle to deliver. You must be positive, profession and presentable to represent the Tomato Head as a driver. You will be required to provide the same level of service that our in-house staff provide. You will be trained on our menu, computer system and restaurant operations so that you can be flexible in between delivery orders. Drivers will also fulfill a variety of tasks inside the restaurant while waiting for delivery orders. These tasks include but are not limited to: Pay is as follows: $5/hour base pay $2/delivery taken any tips associated with the deliveries you take. We guarantee a minimum of $10/hour.
