Activity 1 - DataStage Grid Architecture Planning

In this activity, IBM will collaborate with Client to perform the following Services which include the following tasks:

• Environment build out planning:

(1) Lifecycle environment specifics

(2) Tier Architecture Overview

(3) Components hardware resource configuration

(4) Security, LDAP and certificate requirements

(5) Information Server Client components

(6) Client software required on Head and Compute nodes (e.g. Oracle/Teradata clients)

(7) Server infrastructure plan for future/lifecycle environments

• Validate Client preparations for :

(1) Future/Lifecycle High Availability configuration requirements for Repository and Engine Tiers required for future

(2) Future/Lifecycle Load Balancing configuration requirements for the Services Tier

(3) Shared disks and SAN/NFS mount configurations for Engine and/or Repository

(4) Virtual hostnames and DNS configurations

(5) Cluster Management System configuration specifics

• Review of the CLIENT environment specific to supporting the enterprise applications as follows:

(1) XMETA Repository Tier (Remote DB2)

(2) SERVICES Tier (<WAS_STD_CLUSTER>)

(3) ENGINE Tier (DataStage Grid)

(4) COMPUTE Tier (Four (4))
