Job Title: Controller Job Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Department: Finance Last Updated: December 2020

Core Purpose:

To support the Company's financial and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of accounts receivable, including billing and collections from customers.
  • Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliation,

allocations and accruals

  • Manages annual audit
  • Assist with corporate insurance needs and compliance
  • Monthly and quarterly external reporting to upper management, investors and debtholders including

communications with foreign subsidiary legal and accounting

  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with accounting research and drafting accounting policies
  • Handle quarterly, annual and other applicable local and state taxes and filings (to include excise, sales, use and

payroll related filings)

  • Assist with corporate federal and state tax returns
  • Assist in updating model calculation and current financial information
  • Ad hoc analysis
  • Review foreign entity financials and currency transactions and gain/loss under ASC 830
  • Maintain filing systems for HR, Finance and Accounting
  • 401k Administration
  • Supervise accounting specialist (payroll, benefits and accounts payable)
  • Assist with other administrative tasks, including with HR and office management as needed
  • Record and review stock-based compensation, including employee and non-employee options under ASC 718
  • Assist with fundraising documentation as needed
  • Model and encourage behaviors that support the Usermind values and culture
  • Wire set up for domestic transfers

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Software Accounting (SAS) Required
  • Experience working with Netsuite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with sales and use tax in Washington as well as other states is desired.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality work to meet or beat deadlines, with little direction
  • At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role with increasing responsibility
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices (ie: Seattle sick leave ordinance, 401k compliance, ACA compliance, PTO

policies, etc.) is desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred

basis throughout the day.
