New Hope Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cedar Park (northwest of Austin) has a FULL TIME opening for a CMA. New Hope Manor is seeking qualified Med aides to join our heath care team. We are a long term care facility,consistently rated high with all State and Federal agencies. The applicants must be willing to give love and compassion to our residents. We are a privately owned and operated 24-hour skilled nursing facility with an in-house rehabilitation department. We offer competitive salary and benefits for qualified applicants.

Full Time Schedule: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm (Split shift) and 2pm - 10pm
(rotating schedules)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately prepare, administer, and observe resident for reaction or side effects and document medications as prescribed.

**Must have current (no later than 30 days old) COVID-19 negative test results, must provide proof **

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed and passed a state approved Medication Aide Course.
• Have a current medication aide permit from Texas Department of Health
• Be in good standing on Nurse Aide Registry and Nurse Assistant Misconduct Registry.
• Must have current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification in Texas.
• Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents.
• Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Accurately prepare, administer and document medications as prescribed. Immediately report any errors to Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
• Accurately take and record vital signs
• Accurately count and sign medication administration record for controlled drugs.
• Observe all residents and report anything unusual or abnormal to Charge Nurse. Ability to safely care for residents in a patient and respectful manner despite some resident's lack of cooperation and/or combativeness.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with facility absence policies.
• Perform Nurse Aide duties, as directed. This requires the ability to perform the essential functions of a Certified Nurse Assistant with or without accommodations.
• Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests
• Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
• Use appropriate work place behavior and adhere to dress code at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.
• Observe for and immediately report to Charge Nurse or Shift Supervisor any noted reactions or side effects of medications.
