New English Brewing is seeking a Beer Tender to work in our San Diego Brewery Tasting Room. The Beer Tender is responsible for the overall guest experience while visiting our taproom. This position ensures the highest level of customer service while promoting New English craft beers. This position also keeps guests well informed of each beer style, their ingredients, how they were created and the stories behind them.

Beer Tender Job Duties:
- The Beer Tender must have a positive attitude.
- Creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Provides the highest level of customer service, ensuring guests have a positive memorable experience.
- Serves guests beer and other beverages, often during peak and high volume periods, ensuring customers are well-taken care of in a timely manner.
- Prepares the New English Tasting Room for opening.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Able to lift 35 pounds.
- Changes beer keg when line runs out.
- Accurately collects payments on sales.
- Operates Point-of-Sale system with high level of proficiency.
- Cleans up after guests as needed.
- Follows the beertender checklists. This includes pre-opening and closing tasks, in addition to operational duties.
- Upselling as required.
- Communicates well with other team members.
- Ensures proper record keeping and identifies inconsistencies to proactively address any areas of concern.
- This role actively participates in company promotions and events.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations in regards to alcohol consumption and other matters.
- Facilities a positive and motivated work environment.
- Neat, tidy and professional appearance.
- Must follow all pandemic safety requirements per company management, including but not limited to use of PPE.

Qualification & Education Requirements:
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Experience in a bar / beverage environment and customer service.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Must be able to work a part-time schedule, including weekends and evenings, as well as possible events in our tasting room.
- Must attend and pass LEED certification training within 6 months of start date.
- Cicerone certification a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A team player.
- A passion for craft beer.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be punctual, good timing keeping.
- Experience with craft beer is a plus.
- Knowledge of the brewing process, methods and practices is a plus.
- Must be vaccinated and validate vaccination status per CAL/OSHA guidelines.

- Hours for this position are 2pm to 8 or 9pm daily Tues - Thur. Fri - Sun 1-10pm. You must be able to work some or all of these hours at least 3 to 4 days per week.
